Unit title:          Autism and Spirituality

Credit value:     3 credits 

Description:      This unit presents the case of  Adriana Rocha, an autistic girl born in 1981 who was encouraged to communicate using the controversial keyboard technique of Facilitated Communication.  Using this technique, Adriana began to reveal spiritual information about reincarnation, spiritual masters, guides and the spiritual background of her autistic condition. The student is asked to consider the controversial nature of the technique and its revelations, and to do additional reading on the nature of autism and communication with autistic children.
