Unit title: Introduction
to Psychosynthesis
Credit value: 3 credits
Description: This unit provides a modern introduction to the field of Psychosynthesis, the system of transpersonal psychology and spiritual development developed by Roberto Assagioli. Some people find Assagioli’s original writings difficult; however the text used for this unit is a landmark in making Assagioli’s teachings accessible and linking them to further developments in psychospiritual philosophy and psychology. The unit covers the roots and development of psychosynthesis, overview of theory, personality, will, spiritual growth, meditation, imagination, body and self, sexuality, psychosynthesis and esoteric psychology, the shadow, and more. Exercises for self-development are presented throughout the text.
