Unit title: The
Power of the Wild Woman

Description: This unit offers a Jungian-based study of the Wild Woman archetype – the qualities in the feminine psyche that speak to freedom, oneness with Nature, wisdom, healing, the body, instinct and power – the qualities that have been suppressed in patriarchal, regimented society. Through myth, folklore, fairy tales, anecdote, traditional teaching tales, archetypal symbolism, and an understanding of animal behaviour, the author of the set text takes us on a transformational journey to the rediscovery of a woman’s soul, retrieving power, dealing with rage and forgiveness, initiation, and the re-emergence of a new self. This unit is for the woman or man or who is interested in the feminine within, and the student of shamanism, folklore, women’s studies, Jungian studies, contemporary spirituality, psychology, counseling/psychotherapy, social studies, mythology, and related topics.
