Unit title: Introduction
to Hinduism

Description: This unit provides an academic introduction to the religion of Hinduism. The unit explores topics such as the role of Hinduism in Indian society, revelation and transmission of sacred scriptures, social classes and Hinduism, self-understanding, the presence and the stories of the gods and goddesses, religious symbolism, the role of women, the European relationship with Hinduism, Hinduism in the world, and Hindu diversity.
