Unit title: Healing,
Regression and Spirit Possession
Credit value: 5 credits (For occasional study fee purposes this course will be counted as one unit).
Description: The concept that spirits and entities can attach to our physical and energy bodies, causing psychological and physical problems, is not accepted by mainstream medicine and psychology. However, this field is being explored by a number of clinical psychologists, hypnotherapists and psychiatrists and is producing a growing literature. This unit studies the clinical work and techniques of one psychiatrist who uses transpersonal hypnotherapy as a healing tool to regress people to past lives, diagnose spirit and entity-related disturbances, discover and heal soul loss (a shamanic concept) and perform releasement (the process of removing unwanted attachments). The psychiatrist’s case studies reveal a great deal about people’s experiences of spiritual disturbances, and people’s seemingly innate ability to discern other levels of reality when in an altered state of consciousness.
