Unit title:
Investigating the Paranormal
Credit value: 3 credits
Description: Using a text by two veteran psychic investigators, this unit takes a look an anomalous phenomena (events that don’t seem to fit into existing theories), how they are classified and described, and how they can be investigated. Practical guidance is given on selecting cases for investigation, adequate preparations, vital questions to ask, procedures in the field, and analyzing or interpreting the results. Types of phenomenon covered are: UFOs, Forteana, Earth mysteries, remote viewing, coincidences, psychic experiences, OOBEs, life after death and premonitions. Problems relevant to each phenomenon and background notes such as famous examples are given. A student who has completed this unit will be much better equipped to make sense of and report paranormal events, whether for professional purposes or personal interest.
