Unit number: NLP
450
Unit title: New
Transformational Tools of NLP
Credit value: 3 credits
Description:
Helping people to grow, improve and develop takes many forms. The concept of “coaching” has come to embrace a range of helping contexts from improving specific behaviours to stimulating spiritual awareness. The breadth of issues worked with in life, personal and executive coaching can collectively be called large “C” Coaching. Activities of the coach involve guiding, coaching, teaching, mentoring, sponsoring and awakening. These six activities and roles map onto the Levels of Logical Learning proposed by Gregory Bateson and the Neurological Levels proposed by Robert Dilts. Using a key textbook by Dilts, this unit presents an explanation of each of the 6 large “C” Coaching roles together with technique toolboxes for each role. Techniques are drawn from NLP and other disciplines, and include Guardian Angel, Causal Loop, Contrastive Analysis, TOTE Modelling, Imagineering, Establishing Inner Mentors, One Word Reframing, the “I see” exercise, Archetypic Energies, Awakening to Freedom and Transcending Double Binds. If you know some of these techniques already, you will find them presented in new styles and contexts. No specific previous NLP or coaching knowledge is needed.
Key textbook:
