Unit title: Practices
and Beliefs of Wicca
Credit value: 3 credits
Description: This unit provides an introduction to the ancient religion of Wicca (also known as Witchcraft) from a British point of view, though differences between various branches of Wicca are explained. Topics include a brief history of Wicca, modern developments of the Craft, basic rites, rituals and practices, initiations, personal and spiritual development through Wicca, God and Goddess, and the work of the Coven (the name given to the Wiccan lodge or spiritual group). A Jungian theoretical framework is given to explain Wicca in terms of spiritual or transpersonal psychology.

Element, 2003 (An earlier edition was published by Thorsons in 1996, but this edition has more up-to-date material including a list of Wiccan organizations in UK, USA and elsewhere.
