Unit number: MAN
443
Unit title: Decision
Making for Management and Leadership
Credit value: 3 credits
Description: Decisions are made by everyone every day. However, in business the consequences of decision making are usually more far-reaching and costly. Therefore decision-making in organizations is usually entrusted to personnel higher in the hierarchy such as supervisors, managers and directors. Although decision making is part of the job for such personnel, decision skills can frequently be improved to lower stress, increase efficiency and smooth communication. The key text reveals a range of decision-making and coaching strategies taught by a highly experienced consultant and business educator, and case studies are provided to illustrate the concepts in action.
Key textbook: Ward, Kim D., Decisions Without Mistakes, Nebraska, USA, Writers Advantage (iUniverse, Inc.), 2003.
