Description: This unit is a study of the book “The Age of Unreason” by management guru and visionary Charles Handy. Handy predicted the massive growth of technology that we take for granted today: in particular, the mass availability of communications devices that are changing the world of work. More and more people are not tied to organizational jobs, Rather than being supported by organizations, people are being encouraged to take more responsibility for themselves and society. Handy proposes different types of organizational structure, work patterns and education that can thrive in a world where big institutions become less important in our lives and people have more choice than ever before in deciding how they want to live.
