Unit title:          Workplace Bullying

Credit value:     3 credits

Description:       This course draws upon groundbreaking work in understanding the prevalence of bullying in the workplace.  Some of the causes of bullying are examined and the characteristics of bullying at work and the tactics of the bully are outlined in considerable detail. The course then considers the behaviour and reactions of the victim, symptoms and effects of bullying, relationship to post-traumatic stress, and gives comprehensive guidelines for challenging and combating workplace bullying, including UK law, moral issues, and suggestions for corporate policy.
