Unit title: Working
with Emotional Intellience
Credit value: 3 credits
Description: In this unit we study the application of Daniel Goleman’s concept of Emotional Intelligence to the world of work. The unit focuses on the importance of people relating constructively and maturely to colleagues in the workplace and the business relating to the outside world. The emotional qualities we need to survive in the corporate sphere, and how to develop them, are outlined. Case histories show how these qualities can be implemented in business and the effects of ignoring them. The unit also looks at the picture of the “Emotionally Intelligent Organization” which will put into action the principles of Emotional Intelligence to help build a more productive organization and a more satisfied workforce.
