the Writer's Life
Credit value: 3 credits
Description: This course is based upon the book “Wild Mind” by Natalie Goldberg, drawn from her writing workshops and personal experiences, which offers a spontaneous, inspiring and wise guide to the art of creative writing. Students will be expected to study the text and extract the guidelines to creativity that suit their style and personality, and also to do a selection of the writing exercises and tasks provided in the key text.
Key textbook: Goldberg, Natalie. Wild Mind: Living the Writer’s Life. London: Rider, 1991. [There is also an edition published by Bantam USA, which on Amazon has a wrong date of publication given as 1920!]
As at October 2007 this book is out of print, but used copies are obtainable via Amazon.co.uk / Amazon.com and also Abebooks.co.uk / Abebooks.com
