Classics – My Voice Will Go With You
Credit value: 3 credits
Description: This unit is a study of the use of “teaching tales” or metaphoric stories in Ericksonian hypnotherapy, using the text “My Voice Will Go With You: The Teaching Tales of Milton H. Erickson” edited by Sidney Rosen, M.D. The purpose of “teaching tales” is to influence the client both consciously and unconsciously to produce suggestions for positive change. The unit looks at the use of teaching tales for various applications of hypnotherapy including motivation, medical conditions, habits, and other problems.
Prerequisite: A basic grounding in hypnotherapeutic inductions and techniques, and some appreciation of Ericksonian hypnotherapy.
