Unit number: HYP
208
Unit title: Gestalt,
Hypnosis and Dreamwork
Credit value: 3 credits
Description: This unit presents the hypnotic methods of working with dreams developed by a prominent hypnotherapist, combining Gestalt dreamwork and hypnosis. Gestalt dreamwork leads the client to find the deeper meaning of the dream in terms of his or her own experience, rather than imposing an analysis or interpretation. A range of hypnotic methods can be used to link the dream experience to insight, past memories and positive expectations of the future. The textbook presents a number of case-study transcripts demonstrating the methods in action.
Prerequisites: Some previous knowledge of hypnotherapy and /or psychotherapy.
Key textbook: Churchill, Randal. Become the Dream: The Transforming Power of Hypnotic Dreamwork. Santa Rosa, CA: Transforming Press, 1997.
Comments:
This unit is not in itself a training or qualification in hypnotherapy.
Amendments may be made to the details and provision of units at any time.
