Modern View of the Vedas and the Afterlife
Credit value: 3 credits
Description: This unit draws on Vedic traditions and the latest discoveries in physics to give an inspirational view of what happens to us in the afterlife. Using this unit as guide, we can overcome our fears and contemplate the remarkable range of exciting possibilities that await us. Death is as much a part of life as birth, and death is an illusion that we survive in order to continually learn and to refine ourselves. Also, new scientific ideas help us to examine and evaluate our worldview, thus coming to a clearer understanding of ourselves as individuals and as part of society. For example, science tells us that beliefs can spread like viruses and that the mind field is powerful enough to infect us with beliefs without us having any experiences at all.
