Unit title: The
Works of Carl Rogers
Credit value: 3 credits
Description: This unit introduces the student to a seminal selection of the written works of Carl Rogers, spanning autobiographical material, the therapeutic relationship, the concept of the person, theory and scientific research, education, the nature of the helping professions and social psychology. Rogers has been called “the most influential psychologist in American history”. The unit not only provides an ideal introduction to his work, but students already acquainted with Rogers’ approach will find much diverse material to increase their wider appreciation of this giant of humanistic psychology.
