Unit title: The
Egan Model - A Short Course
Credit value: 3 credits
Description: The Egan model of skilled helping (or the Skilled-Helper Model) is one of the most popular and practical models of counselling skills in the world and is taught at many colleges and used in many formal and informal counselling settings. The aims of this module are to provide you with an overall acquaintance with the model, to allow you to gain knowledge of certain key areas and test key skills, and to enable you to know the model well enough to relate it to your ongoing practice of helping or counselling, so that you can, at your own pace, continue to study parts of the model to help you become a better counsellor.
