Unit title: Therapy
The Provocative Way
Credit value: 3 credits
Description: This unit is a theoretical introduction to the methods of brief therapy pioneered by Frank Farrelly and Jeff Brandsma and described in their textbook “Provocative Therapy”. This type of therapy utilises countertransference feelings to confront the client with spontaneous and honest reactions, often delivered in the client’s own blunt language and with strategic use of humour. The key text is illustrated with case studies.
