Description:

This unit presents powerful revised thinking concerning the theory and practice of person-centred counselling, stemming from the findings of qualitative research. Topic focused on include reflexivity, self-awareness, use of images and metaphor, transparency and the working alliance and the power dynamics of the therapeutic relationship. This is an advanced unit and students will benefit from some prior familiarity with person-centred counselling and the thinking of Carl Rogers.
