Memory - Complications and Problems

Description:
This unit is a multidisciplinary and balanced exploration of the “recovered memory” or “false memory syndrome” controversy, focusing on claims of recovered memories of childhood abuse and the counter-claims that such memories are a product of imagination or bad therapy techniques. Topics include the psychology of memory, trauma, denial, the history of false memory syndrome movements, and the process of therapy. The set text features contributions from a variety of experts in the field. This unit does not take sides and urges balanced consideration of differing points of view.
