Unit title: The
Spectrum of Coaching Knowledge
Credit value: 4 credits
Description:
This unit provides an overview of the theory and function of professional life coaching for other professionals such as managers, therapists, executives, and consultants as well as students from other backgrounds. The necessary competencies are outlined in terms of knowledge, skills and techniques, and comprehensive guidance on further reading and self-study is given to enable people to focus on niche areas of interest. The unit assignments help the student to identify coaching as a distinct set of skills and activities, to identify relevant prior theoretical and experiential knowledge that can cross over into coaching, and to draw up plans for self-study and self-development in line with perceived interests in niche coaching.
