Unit title:           The Tao of Coaching at Work

Description:       

Jam-packed with tips, ideas and skills, this unit presents coaching in a nutshell as a set of skills for any busy manager, executive or leader who wishes to inspire and increase effectiveness in his or her team.  If you have no time to take a full coaching course, want to be more empowering quickly, or want to taste what coaching is about, this unit can help you wade in and begin using coaching skills, releasing more time for yourself and more productivity from members of your organization. Instead of insisting on formal coaching, this unit shows how you can ask any appropriate person to be your coach for a specific set of skills or competencies, or to help stimulate your thinking and ideas. The unit can also act as a refresher and inspiration to existing coaches. Techniques covered include giving feedback, the GROW model, Instant Payoff Coaching, The Skill/Will Matrix, and recognizing cultural differences. The set textbook was developed from an actual in-house coach training programme.
